About Jade:

I am a Mental Health Occupational Therapist. What exactly is that you may be asking? As a Mental Health Occupational Therapist, I help individuals navigate the challenges of mental health conditions by focusing on how everyday activities impact their well-being. I work with clients to develop personalised strategies that improve emotional regulation, enhance coping skills, and foster greater independence in daily life. Whether it's managing self-care, improving social interactions, or supporting work or study tasks, I empower people to engage in activities that promote recovery and lead to a more fulfilling, balanced life. As I like to say when explaining what a Mental Health OT is to people- we are the “doing” part of therapy, finding ways to get you to function.

I’ve always been passionate about both mental health and exercise, so I decided to combine these interests to create something meaningful – The Fulfilment Project. My own journey with mental health has been a powerful motivator in my desire to help others, and it drives my belief that identity is much more than just a diagnosis. This personal experience also led me to discover the therapeutic benefits of exercise, using it not only as a form of physical activity but as a vital outlet for emotional well-being.

About My Experience and Background:

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy, and my career has provided me with diverse experience in both acute hospital settings (across public and private sectors) and community-based environments. This broad range of roles has allowed me to develop expertise in delivering individual and group evidence-based therapeutic interventions. I have facilitated a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Skills Training, Positive Psychology, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

In addition to my core work, I engage in guest speaking and run workshops focused on mental health, tailored for both clients and clinicians. I currently lecture for The National Women's Fitness Academy and facilitate workshops on different mental health topics. I also provide supervision services for OTs and mental health staff, supporting businesses in enhancing clinical practices and fostering professional growth.
